Annual Memorial Luminary Display
32nd Annual Memorial Luminary Display
Join us Friday, December 8, 2023 for our Annual Memorial Luminary Display**
To accommodate as many of our families as possible, the luminary display will be a Driving Tour. More than 2,500 luminaries will line the three miles of roads within the historic cemetery to honor the 44,000 people who have their final resting place at Rose Hill.
The display opens at dusk but you may enter at your leisure throughout the evening, as the luminaries will stay lit through midnight. Luminaries will be available for those who would like to place them at their loved ones’ graves. The 65 foot Christmas Tree will be lit before the tour begins so you can enjoy seeing it from the comfort of your vehicle. The Christmas Tree will stay lit throughout the holiday season.
Be sure to stop by the office to purchase a bow for our Memorial Christmas Tree that will be on display near the front gate. The bows can be purchased for $5.00. All proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to Cuddling Angels. This is a great way to honor or remember a loved one and help a wonderful organization. Cuddling Angels offers support and services to those who have lost little ones. One service they provide is assisting with the cost of burial markers for area families who have lost a baby.
After the holiday season, we will randomly a name from those who purchase a bow. The winner will receive an engraved brick to be placed in our Memorial Brick Garden in the center of the cemetery. Memorial bricks can also be purchased for $50.00.
** In the event of rain, the display will be cancelled. If you would still like to have luminaries to place at your loved ones’ gravesites once the weather clears, you may stop by the office during regular business hours. We will have them available through December 22nd.
